Can I Ask My Virtual Assistant To Write My Content For My Coaching Business?

Coach writing own article, instead of virtual assistant.

I work with coaches from all over the world and have respect for them all, simply for their uniqueness and the vulnerability they’ve allowed themselves to show in order to help others.

Once, however, I was asked to write articles for a coach and I was shocked. Why, you ask?

Well, what do clients look for when choosing a coach?

  • A unique perspective

  • Experience in the topic they cover

  • An open mind

  • The ability to share their experience/s and know how to overcome the effect of it

What happens when you ask someone else to write your content?

You are no longer the coach. Period.

People want to hear what you have to say, that is why you are respected and have clients.

I’ve tried to understand on many occasions why a coach would want their content to be written for them, and to me personally, it came down to self-doubt or the ability to think of topics to cover and the lack of it.

No problem, write about your self-doubt and how you plan on overcoming it, by helping others who are experiencing the same thing as you, feel less alone. If you can’t think of topics, no problem. Ask your virtual assistant for topic ideas and to proofread for any grammatical errors, or you can record the full article and they can transcribe it for you. But then you must write (or record) the content with your perspective.

It all comes down to having confidence within yourself and to share it out loud!

No one is looking for a perfectly written article, they want to hear what you have to say. Raw and honest.

As I mentioned above, if your concern is professionalism, that is no problem. Your virtual assistant can help with transcribing and proofreading but it is up to you to share your unique perspective.
