SHOULD I STAY OR SHOULD I GO?

THINKING OF LEAVING YOUR OFFICE JOB TO GO VIRTUAL?

WHEN YOU DO IT RIGHT.. IT'S NEVER EASY

Making the choice of going Freelance is not exactly an easy one to make.

Firstly, you need to be comfortable with the idea of the unknown - what do I mean by this? Well, you no longer have a set salary and the ease of mind knowing what to expect and plan your budget in advance. This has its advantages and disadvantages - With a salary you are limited to a specific amount every month, as well as working to impress one person for possibly months or even years before being promoted for a couple of $ more. Yet, when Freelancing.. your income will be much higher than 2 salaries together would be some months. Unfortunately, with Freelance it may be true that your income could be very high some months - others may be quiet, especially in the beginning.

Freelance positives in my opinion:- Health of mind and body = Better chance of motivation and success.

Sitting in an office from 9-5, five days a week is not healthy for either mental or physical health, you are doing so little movement that it effects your posture and can leave you in pain, you eventually will not be able to concentrate properly or feel motivated because you are sitting in this position for an excessive amount of time just to prove to someone how efficient and capable you are. This.. is what leads to burnout. Mental health is the most important thing to feeling motivated and without motivation - how could you possibly achieve true success. Yes, you will still encounter a difficult client here and there but, they are now your client - not your boss.

Personally, I vote Freelance.

Here's the thing though, you can be extremely happy working in an office environment.. depending on the space that is. Shoutout to the employers out there that make their office space a second home for their team. - Let's be honest, you and your team are in the office more than you are at home. Family and friends are important, so make the work place motivating - full of team spirit and keep it interesting without micro-managing.

Going Virtual means you will have to work even harder than before and you MUST love what you do. The key ingredient is passion for what you do. Build your brand, keep up the good work - now you are not only working to prove your efficiency but you are building a name for yourself - make it AWESOME!

Goodluck on your journey, whichever one you chose to take. Pop me a message through my website and tell me more about your journey to success on thevirtualdesk.net
