Virtual Assistant or Office Assistant?

WHY YOU SHOULD CHOOSE A VIRTUAL ASSISTANT

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS SUCCESS WHERE THERE IS NO PASSION

Out of a hundred resumes you will most likely narrow it down to five or ten fairly competent applicants, out of those.. let's say ten, you will find that one will truly seem promising to cover most tasks assigned to him / her. The salary will have to be high because this person is capable of far more than minimal pay while committing to a full-time job.

Any staff member who uses initiative, is truly intelligent and passionate will always be on the lookout for better and higher paying opportunities.

Virtual Assistants are multi-skilled, passionate and driven. The more clients they get - the better.

Afraid that the capacity might not be there? Not a problem, Virtual Assistants who do it right are part of a very large and successful network of other like-minded VAs. They work together and can grow their business by hiring another Virtual Assistant without you having to care about adding another dollar due to one person not being able to cope with the workload.

Virtual Assistants are excellent investments for your business, there is no going wrong. I am not counting the people who advertise themselves online, are completely inexperienced but presented themselves otherwise.

When looking for a Virtual Assistant you need to cover a few key components when searching and interviewing him/her. I've covered these points below in order to make this an obvious choice and simple venture.

SCAM OR THE REAL DEAL:

The most important thing is to check if this person is part of a professional association, or if not part of an association, they need to at least have some testimonials. Testimonials could be fake, so make sure you do not need to enter your bank details anywhere before you've met this person and can truly trust what they are offering.

PROFESSIONALISM AND ATTENTION TO DETAIL IN PRESENCE

Does the assistant have a website? If so, how has it been presented? Does it look professional?

Are there spelling errors or information that simply does not add up?

ARE THEY RESPONSIVE?

If the Virtual Assistant does not immediately respond to you, they are clearly either not coping with the workload they have and do not pay enough attention to their brand and reputation they are building by scaling their capacity. If they don't pay enough attention to their own brand, they certainly won't pay enough to yours.

WHAT ARE THEIR FUTURE GOALS?

Are they planning on scaling their VA business or do they have completely unrelated goal?

You simply cannot rely on hiring a VA who is financing their studies or desired lifestyle that is not related to Virtual Assistance.

CAN YOU RELY ON YOUR NEW VA?

So you've found the perfect Virtual Assistant, but, you are concerned about confidentiality or competition in your industry. Say you are a real estate Broker or Attorney.

Just like the service providers you choose to work with, trust is either a given or, and I recommend this - set up a formal black and white agreement between both of you that addresses your concerns.
